Southern Rock Racing Stoney Lonesome – Extreme UTV Episode 2

On Extreme UTV episode 2 we head to Stoney Lonesome OHV in Bremen, Alabama for Race 1 of the 2016 Southern Rock Racing Series. Here we would prepare to race the Busted Knuckle XP 1000 for the first time on one of the baddest courses the Southern Rock Racing Series UTVs have ever hit. I have been following the Southern Rock Racing Series since its inception 3 years ago. Their UTV class that races on Friday has always been a good show. Well this year I decided to get in on the action. Two weeks before this event I purchased a 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 that I found used online. It was bone stock and priced right. The first thing I did was call up my Scott Goforth at Goforth Tire to get a set of Beadlocks and 29″ TSL SX stickies. These tires are super soft and should help me make it out the top of just about any hill climb course the SRRS picks out.

We got to the park Friday morning and went to check out the UTV course. They had us hitting a nice kicker jump running down through a steep hill then we ran down along a creek before heading back up to the starting line and up Gut Buster. Gut Buster is a tough hill for even built Jeeps. This caused some problems with broken parts and rollovers during the race. On my run I smoked the lower part of the course but had to back up and attempt the top ledges of Gut Buster numerous times almost rolling in the process before finding the right line and blasting out the top. I had finished my first race in my UTV and was pumped. We had a blast at Stoney Lonesome with only half of the field finished and this set me up into a great spot to begin the points race for the season. That’s all for Extreme UTV Episode 2. Stay Tuned as we build and race our Busted Knuckle RZR all over the Southeast. For build up videos of the RZR check out our Extreme UTV Tech videos on the Busted Knuckle Video Youtube Channel. Don’t forget to head over to our Busted Knuckle online store and get your some Busted Knuckle Gear.
