We have always been in to Drag Racing as well as Rock Racing. Then we got the idea to put the two together and the results speak for themselves. We contacted the great folks over at Mountain Side Off Road Park in Gadsden, AL about putting on the first ever Hill Climb Drag Race. They set up a nice 150 yard course that included the drivers piloting their way up a huge rock face.  Seven drivers entered the race.  From the moment the flagger dropped his hands and the engines echoed through the mountain tops, we knew this was going to be great. Each course would be timed. One driver would race in one lane and then swap and race in the opposite lane. Fastest cumulative time took home $1000 cash. The racing was fierce. Big Tim Bacon and his son little Tim were put against each other. This made for some great action as Tim whooped up on his son on both laps in his old school carbureted hill climbing buggy. Tim Cameron’s old Jenny Craig buggy was hauled in all the way from Arkansas by it’s new owner Mark Simpson. He was pitted against Bubba Bacon and his Nasty Purple buggy. Bobby Tanner and his screaming blue buggy had to race against Adam Carter and the Sureclick Ultra4 buggy. Joel had to compete as the odd man out in his silver buggy on sticky Iroks. After two rev limiter pounding rounds of great racing action Big Tim Bacon took the win with his Old School Aetna Buggy and it’s nasty big block motor. After the Race the drivers took the time to see what the park had to offer. All in All the action of the Rock Drag Race was epic and we plan on putting on another race very soon. But don’t take our word for it, check out the videos for yourself.
